During the recent KOREA-LAC Business Summit, held in Seoul, the Colombian company Quipux was awarded in the pitch of the high impact of its technological solutions in the segment of smart and sustainable cities in Latin America.

Quipux’s technological solutions have enabled the implementation of intelligent mobility systems in different cities in Latin America and Africa, helping to contribute to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) goal of reducing, by at least 50%, deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents. Additionally, Quipux solutions have helped in these markets to accelerate the implementation of e-government, with high levels of digital adoption among citizens.

This summit is organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Ministries of International Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Science and Technology of South Korea, and was held on September 29 and 30.

It was last held in 2019 and resumed this year, in its sixth edition, to discuss how Korea and Latin America can work together to strengthen their regions after the Covid-19 pandemic, the challenges brought by climate change, and strengthen economic and cooperative ties. The summit was attended by public and private sector leaders from both regions.

The Colombian delegation was backed by Procolombia, which promoted the participation of several companies such as Nutresa, Juan Valdez, Needzaio, Altero, Quipux, among others.

Several Korean and Latin American companies participated in this event, presenting the impact of their technological solutions in e-government and smart and sustainable cities. Quipux presented the positive impact of its solutions on its operations in Colombia, Brazil and Côte d’Ivoire.

The jury was composed of members of the IDB, Born2Global (an entity of the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology), government investment promotion agencies, and global private sector investors.

This is a very important recognition for its high technical level, for the forum in which it takes place, and for the organizing entities. Additionally, because it ratifies the good technical level of the companies and technological solutions developed in our country.
