Government of Ivory Coast receives award thanks to Quipux’s technology
The United Nations award is given for the innovation in road safety implemented by the African country, with the support of technology from the Antioquian company.
On Tuesday, September 26, the Ministry of Transport of Ivory Coast was awarded the Kofi Annan Prize for Innovation in Road Safety, for the implementation of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), based on the use of the technological solutions of the Colombian company Quipux.
The award was presented at the 2nd Kofi Annan Road Safety Award gala, organized in Marrakech (Morocco) under the theme “Digital Transformations and Innovations for Safer Roads”.
With this solution, the country has managed to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on its national roads by more than 40%.
Its implementation has been led by Ibrahima Kone, General Manager of Quipux Afrique, with the use of technological solutions from the Colombian company and the integration of other components from French, Chinese, Canadian and Belgian companies.
With this type of projects, Quipux continues to align its solutions with the purpose of supporting the United Nations initiative: “Decade of Actions for Road Safety (2021-2030), seeking to reduce, by at least 50%, deaths and serious injuries in traffic accidents”.
