Find out how our Research Area creates value
This cell carries out research and technological development activities in our company, with the objective of strengthening our portfolio of solutions and services by incorporating products based on scientific knowledge, as well as contributing to the national and international recognition of our company.
Yes! That’s right, this team is constantly on the forefront. One of their research areas is “Optimization in the delivery of government services through the use of ICT”. The focus in this research area is the development of models and the application of Information and Communication Technologies to modernize and optimize the interaction between government entities, companies in the sector, and citizens.
The importance of this research team is such that their publications have already begun to be recognized internationally in some scientific and public administration journals, such as PLOS ONE and Public Management Review, journals ranked as superior in their category.
In these journals, some colleagues participated in the publication of: “Factors influencing citizens’ adoption of e-government: an empirical validation in a Developing Latin American Country” and “Government influence on e-government adoption by citizens in Colombia: Empirical evidence in a Latin American context”, both reviews derive from a case study on citizen adoption of the Vehicle Tax platform of Antioquia.
These studies, focused on the annual services of the Department of Antioquia, show the importance that the government has had in the transformation program for public management, and are directed to a governmental influence in the adoption of e-government by citizens (AEC) and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT).
In this process, the government has been fundamental in promoting the benefits that this brings with the objective that the citizens, who are the most interested parties, use and benefit from it. When citizens who use e-government are satisfied, their trust in government increases, its adoption a virtuous cycle.
For the development of the article based on the success case of the department of Antioquia, the website www.vehiculosantioquia.com, the mobile application, and the physical offices were taken as a sample, since the department has full control of the tax and vehicle payment services and can issue regulations that govern the process, the design of the service, the selection of technology, and the channels through which the services are offered.
